A senior Iranian official said Monday that the partnership between Iran and Russia would be a " win-win" policy, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported.

"Iran and Russia have common opportunities and threats on the international stage... The strategic partnership between Tehran and Moscow is a win-win game for the two sides and the people of the region," Ali Baqeri, deputy secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said during a meeting with visiting Assistant Secretary of Russian Security Council Yevgeny Lukyanov.

Baqeri also said that the two countries' strategic partnership will guarantee the regional stability, according to the report.

Lukyanov said that Russia attaches a high importance to its strategic cooperation with the Islamic republic in all spheres.
