An Iranian national has been detained and is due to appear in court here Wednesday charged with the premeditated murder of a compatriot the day before.
Local television Rustavi2 identified the murder suspect as Navid Nou Bahar Deilmma, saying he had pleaded guilty to killing Maksud Bedustan on Tuesday.
The suspect was detained a few hours after the murder was discovered in the office of the Iranian Business Union in downtown Tbilisi.
Police found Bedustan's portable computer and mobile telephone in the possession of the suspect.
Bedustan had been working in Tbilisi for the past 11 years, running his own business and assisting other Iranians to start businesses in the South Caucasus country.
Rustavi2 reported the suspect would be sent to pre-trial detention until a date was fixed for court trial.
Police said Bedustan suffered multiple stab wounds. |
