Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-06-12 03:37

During a friendly soccer match held on Monday between Jewish and Arab youths, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tore a tendon and will be wearing a cast for several weeks.

The soccer match was held in Jerusalem as part of the show "The Royal Tour" that features world leaders acting as tour guides to boost tourism.

Shortly after joining the match, Netanyahu slipped and tore his tendon. "I hurt my leg during a youth soccer match," explained Netanyahu in a video on his YouTube channel, "while I was trying to show Israel's good side."

In the video, the prime minister compared the soccer game with the Euro League, with a cast and in a relaxed position.

"Tomorrow I will go back to the office to play other games for the people of Israel," Netanyahu said in the video.

The Prime Minister's Office also reported that despite the injury, Netanyahu did not quit the game and even scored a goal.
