Bahrain warns citizens against traveling to Lebanon
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-08-16 16:51

Bahraini foreign ministry warned Thursday its citizens against traveling to Lebanon due to " deteriorating security situation."

The ministry said in an advisory that it is concerned about Bahraini nationals traveling or present in Lebanon as the situation there "could put their lives at risk."

"The Foreign Ministry warns against visiting areas of tension and threats. The ministry urge all citizens not to travel to the Republic of Lebanon because of the current security and political conditions," it said.

The ministry said citizens who need assistance can contact the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The advisory comes few hours after Bahrain's national carrier, Gulf Air, announced that it is resuming flights to Iran and Iraq one year after they were cancelled according to a government advisory warning Bahrainis against visiting these destinations.

The Bahraini government issued the advisory last year based on claims that Iran and Lebanese outlawed group Hizbollah were involved in Bahrain's unrest.
