Hamas to announce reshuffled Gaza ruling authority soon
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-08-27 20:46

Ismail Haneya, prime minister of the Hamas authority in the Gaza Strip, is expected to announce soon his reshuffled "cabinet," local official said Monday.

In the reshuffle that involved eight portfolios, Ziad al-Zaza will replace Haneya to be the financial minister, a portfolio occupied by the prime minister himself, said Yousef Rizka, Haneya' s political advisor.

Al-Zaza is returning to Hamas government after he won a large number of votes in the secretive internal elections of Hamas, the Islamic movement that has been ruling the Gaza Strip since 2007, the sources said.

The other key change is the replacement of the health minister, but the name of the new minister was not immediately known.

It is the third time that Haneya reshuffles his "cabinet" since Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas fired the Hamas-led government in 2007. Abbas's move came after Hamas routed his forces and took control of the Palestinian coastal enclave.
