Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz on Wednesday ordered to cut back on the soldiers taking part in an air-defense drill conducted jointly with the U.S. military.
The IDF will also reduce forces dedicated to the week-long Turning Point 6 national emergency preparedness drill, alongside with the extensive Austere Challenge-12, according to the Walla news site.
"In light of the escalation in the south..., it's important that the IDF get ready for any scenario," an Israeli military official said during a tour in the hard-hit southern communities.
