A mortar shell from Syria struck an Israeli army post in the Israeli-occupied part of the Golan Heights Sunday, causing no damages or injuries, the Israeli military said.
In response, the military said in a statement, Israeli soldiers "fired warning shots towards Syrian areas."
This is the first time the Israel Defense Forces fired into the Syrian territory since 1973.
