Hamas leader slams U.S. support to Israel's military operation against Gaza
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-11-16 04:49

Head of the Hamas-run government in the Gaza Strip, Ismail Haneya, on Thursday slammed the U.S. supportive position on Israel's military operation "Pillar of Defense" against the Palestinian coastal enclave.

The prime minister, who has been hiding since Israel threatened to target top Hamas officials and especially after Hamas armed wing Commander Ahmed al-Jaa'bari was killed on Wednesday, said in a speech which was aired by Hamas al-Aqsa Satellite Television that "we strongly condemn the U.S. stances."

"The U.S. side insists to be to the side of injustice, aggression and occupation. It supports the machine of killing and destruction against our Palestinian people," Haneya said as he sat on a black chair.

Meanwhile, Haneya commended Egypt's President Mohamed Morsi's position and the latter's rejection to the Israeli military operation against the Gaza Strip.

"Recalling Egyptian ambassador to Israel and sending his Prime Minister Hisham Qandil to visit Gaza on Friday are all highly appreciated," said Haneya.

Haneya also called on Egypt to open Rafah border crossing between Gaza Strip and Egypt permanently and allow all kinds of support to get into Gaza to fight the "Zionist enemy," vowing to revenge for the killing of Hamas armed wing leader.
