Oil surges on job data, weaker dollar

Crude prices climbed sharply further on Thursday as U.S. job data came in positive and the dollar weakened on a stronger euro.

Light, sweet crude for April delivery gained 1.55, or 1.46 percent to settle at 107.83 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. In London, Brent crude rose and last traded above 123 dollars a barrel.
