In Bali, the center of Indonesia's tourism industry, the number of foreign tourist coming into the tourist resort rose by 0.36 percent to 249,700 people, head of the bureau named only Suryamin told a press conference.

Indonesia foreign tourist arrival rose to 7.65 million people in 2011, higher than that of 7.0 million people in the previous year, the bureau has said.

The weakening global economy would not have a significant impact on the country's tourism industry as the government has diversified its market, Indonesian Minister for Tourism and Creative Economy Mari Elka Pangestu has said.

The government is aimed at attracting visitors from countries that have emerged relatively unscathed from the credit crisis including China, India and Australia, she said.
