Vietnam holds int'l exhibition on mining

The Vietnam International Exhibition and Conference on Mining (Mining Vietnam 2012) was open here on Wednesday, highlighting the country's achievements and presenting the world's latest technologies and solutions in the field.

The expo attracted 148 companies from 29 countries and territories who displayed the technologies, equipment and services to improve the mining output of both open and underground mines.

Mining Vietnam 2012 is seen as a significant trading event to promote production in the mining industry in Vietnam. It highlights technology renewal and application into production towards automation, clean production, safety and friendliness to the environment by enterprises involved in mining, said director of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry's exhibition organizing company, Bui thi Thuc Anh.

Ian Roberts, managing director of PT Pamerindo of Indonesia, said the domestic and foreign leading brands and solutions presented at Mining Vietnam 2012 would help further boosting the country's mining industry, which has huge potential.

During the expo, which will open until March 9, seminars and conferences will be held with specific topics, including those on minerals processing and transporting in underground mines and updated information about the mining industry.
