Japan's benchmark consumer prices index (CPI) rose 0.2 percent in April from a year earlier, the government said Friday.
The core CPI, which excludes volatile fresh foods, stood at 100. 2 against the 2010 base of 100, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
The core index for Tokyo's 23 wards, a leading indicator for nationwide price moves, was down 0.8 percent in May to hit 99.1. |
