The level of inflation in Spain stood at 1.9 percent in June according to the preliminary figures released by the country's National Institute of Statistics (INE) Thursday.
That means the rate of inflation has not changed since May, when it also stood at 1.9 percent.
INE attributes the figures to a fall in fuel prices, which was offset by increases in the cost of tobacco and food.
INE has also published preliminary figures for the harmonized rate of inflation, which calculates the evolution of prices using the same method as the rest of the countries in the Eurozone. The harmonized rate of inflation experienced a 0.1-percent fall and now stands at 1.8 percent.
The full details of the rate of June rate of inflation will be published on July 13. |
