ISLAMABAD, Jun 19 (China Economic Net) - Deputy Chairman Senate Senator Saleem Mandviwala said on Wednesday that Pakistan's commitment to a healthy relationship with China and to the success of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) goes beyond political affiliations and provincial territories.
He said this while meeting with a visiting Chinese delegation, led by Zhao Baige, Vice Chair of the 12th NPC Foreign Affairs Committee, according to a statement.
The Pakistani delegation welcomed Zhao Baige and her four member delegation to Pakistan and appreciated her work in driving the CPEC journey.
Zhao said her visits to Pakistan have always involved interactions with government, business community as well as people of Pakistan and it is the people-to-people contacts that have resulted in meaningful results of the interactions on both sides.
While discussing the future engagements between the two countries under CPEC the prospects of cooperation for innovation in agricultural sector, human development, job creation, poverty alleviation, industry and infrastructure were touched upon.
Senators expressed hope that Pakistan will have a lot to learn from the Chinese example. And with both countries getting closer with time, more avenues of cooperation will emerge.
The Pakistani delegation, headed by the Deputy Chairman Senate comprised of Senators Dr. Sikandar Mandhro, Syed Muhammad Shah Jamot, Muhammad Javed Abbasi, Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Mohsin Aziz, Faisal Javed and Prof. Dr. Mehr Taj Roghani.
