Advisory: NPC, CPPCC agendas for March 5

Following are the agendas for the fifth sessions of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) and the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on Monday.

NPC:

-- Deputies of the 11th NPC will, beginning 9 a.m., attend the opening meeting of the NPC session in the Great Hall of the People, with Premier Wen Jiabao delivering a report on the government work;

The NPC deputies will examine a draft report on the implementation of the 2011 plan for national economic and social development, and on the 2012 plan for national economic and social development.

The deputies will also examine a draft report on the implementation of the central and local budgets for 2011 and on the central and local budgets for 2012.

The meeting will be broadcast live via China National Radio, China Central Television (CCTV) and China Radio International. Major news websites, including www.xinhuanet.com, will also cover the event.

-- Starting 3 p.m., deputies of the 11th NPC will hold panel discussions about the report on the government work.

-- At 3 p.m., Zhang Ping, minister in charge of the National Development and Reform Commission, will give a press conference on the economic situation and macro economic control at the press center of the two sessions.

-- At 3 p.m., panel discussions about the government work report by delegations from the provinces of Liaoning, Guangdong and Jiangxi will be opened for journalists. Details of the locations are available at at www.npc.gov.cn/pc/11_5.

CPPCC:

-- At 9 a.m., members of the 11th CPPCC National Committee will attend the opening meeting of NPC session, and hear Premier Wen Jiabao's report on the government work.

-- At 3 p.m., members of the 11th CPPCC National Committee will hold panel discussions on the government work report.

-- At 3 p.m., panel discussions about the government work report will be opened for journalists from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign countries in seven locations. Details of the activities can be found at www.cppcc.people.com.cn.
