China publishes 498 national standards in H1
Chinese authorities published 498 national standards in the first half of 2014, they announced on Friday.
The Standardization Administration said 122 of those standards are mandatory while 376 are recommendatory.
Thirty focus on the energy saving industry, environmental protection, energy consumption and water use quotas, and pollutant emissions.
Another 58 of the standards are closely related to people's daily lives and aim to better protect consumers' health and safety.
In the first half, the administration also published 12 national standards on logistics to buttress rapid and healthy development of the logistics industry.
Standards on agriculture, covering issues such as quality farmland construction, have been published as well.
