Sweden's export of services to Nordic countries rocketed by 224 percent from 2000 to 2011 when Sweden's total export of services rose by 129 percent, showed Nordic export prognoses 2013 on Thursday.

From 2000 to 2012, Sweden's export of goods to Nordic countries increased by 79 percent while export of goods overall went up by 45 percent, according to the export prognoses conducted by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

"The Nordic region is the most important export destination for Sweden and it is responsible for a great part of Sweden's export, referring to 23 percent of export of goods as well as 24 percent of export of services," said Ewa Bjorling, Swedish Minister for Trade and Minister for Nordic Cooperation.

Even in the economic crisis of Europe, the Nordic market maintained stable for Sweden as the decrease in export of goods to the region was lower than that to other European Union member-states or the whole world.

"Today as we estimate over ten percent of all the products produced in Sweden go to the Nordic countries," said Bjorling.

She added that export of goods to the Nordic countries was expected to increase by 2.6 percent in 2013, which would be lower than the past growth rate due to the impact left by the debt crisis in Europe.
