Dutch housing market recovers slowly
The Dutch housing market has been recovering slowly, figures published by the Cadastre, Land Registry and Mapping Agency (Kadaster) showed on Monday.
In October, the number of sold houses was 16.7 percent higher compared to the same period in 2012. In total, almost 10,000 houses changed owner last month.
Compared to September 2013, the number of sold houses increased by 7 percent. Detached houses turned out to be increasingly popular, with the number of registered sales up 22.5 percent in October year on year.
The housing market plummeted in the Netherlands after the outbreak of the crisis in 2008. In the past few months, the market has been slowly recovering, although the number of sold homes is still below the pre-crisis level.
