Taiwan's monetary authority announced on Thursday that the island's foreign exchange reserves reached a record high of 416.935 billion U.S. Dollars as of the end of January, an increase of 124 million U.S. Dollars from a month earlier.

The monetary authority attributed the moderate gains to the depreciation of the euro against the U.S. dollar, which helped eat into investment profits.
