Asian institutional investors, including those in China, are seeking opportunities in Europe by buying European stocks with great potential, the chief investment officer of Templeton Global Equity Group said.

Norman Boersma said Europe had not been popular among most investors in the past five years after the financial crisis, but it has many attractive and potentially lucrative stocks.

"Templeton is seeking European companies whose businesses in other regions remain good and their prices are attractive," he said.

As economic conditions in Europe improve, more and more institutional investors have regained their confidence in the region. Chinese institutional investors including sovereign wealth funds are buying into the trend, as are those in Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, he said.
