A truck carved out of ice goes for a quick spin before it melts. The truck has been carved out of more than 11,000lb (5500 kg) of ice as a Canadian battery company prepared the ultimate test for their product. A team of ice sculptors from Ontario created the truck, and a team then drove it for about a mile, at 12mph, in a feat that those involved in the project hope will make it to the Guinness Book of World Records. The ice sculpture was commissioned by Canadian Tire, which wanted to show how well their car batteries it manufactures hold up in cold weather. Creating a truck out of ice was no easy feat for the artists at Iceculture. A steel frame was needed to provide extra support and fans had to be used to prevent hot air and exhaust fumes from melting the exterior. [Photo/icpress.cn]
