The proportion of insurance funds in equity investment is expected to increase to 20 or 30 percent, the chief of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission said on Monday, according to the Shanghai Securities News.

Insurance funds account for 4.61 percent of equity investments, far lower than the cap of 10 percent, which offers great potential for growth, said Chen Wenhui, vice-chairman of CIRC, at a forum on economic reform on Monday.
