Online fund platform Yu'ebao, launched by Alipay, will only allow transfers to banks that are smaller than 50,000 yuan ($8,015) to be completed within two hours from Thursday.

Yu'ebao had no cap on the size of transfers into users' bank accounts within two hours. But from Thursday, users transferring more than 50,000 yuan need to wait for another trading day for the deal to be done.

"Those who made a transfer into bank accounts within two hours cannot receive the fund's earning of that day," Zhang Daosheng, a spokesperson for Alipay, told the Global Times on Wednesday.
