Nikkei opens higher on easing Syria worries
Tokyo stocks opened higher Wednesday morning amid easing concerns over Syria.
At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 37.35 points, or 0.26 percent, from Tuesday at 14,460.71, after climbing to as high as 14,515.84, the highest intraday mark since July 25.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 4.68 points, or 0.39 percent, at 1,194. 90.
