An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted Kazak Autonomous County of Barkol, Hami Prefecture, in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, at 2:57 a.m. Friday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter, with a depth of 7 km, was monitored at 44.9 degrees north latitude and 93.1 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement. |
