Police in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region have cracked a major drug trafficking case involving six criminal gangs, local police said Tuesday.

Police arrested the criminal suspect, a man surnamed Li, while he was receiving a parcel containing 4.8 kg of heroin, in a logistics company in the suburbs of Urumqi, local police said.

The parcel was transported from the south western city of Kunming to Urumqi by an aviation logistics transport company.

Another four men and one woman in the drug trafficking gang have also been arrested. And the female surnamed Cui has admitted to a drug rehabilitation center.
