Six people died when fire broke out at a store in southwest China's Yunnan Province early Thursday, the local fire brigade has announced.
Flames engulfed a community store at 3 a.m. in Guandu District in Kunming, the provincial capital, according to a press release from the provincial public security bureau's fire prevention arm.
It added that police were yet to identify the dead and pinpoint the cause of the fire.
The fire site was a two-story structure of cement and brick, with the store on the first floor and apartments for lease on the second floor.
The statement said the entire building was engulfed in flames that were extinguished by 5:10 a.m. |
