| Forest fire snuffed in northeast China scenic spot |

A forest fire that broke out on Qipanshan Mountain in northeast China's Liaoning province Sunday afternoon was extinguished the same day.
The fire, which broke out on the west side of the Qipanshan Mountain scenic tourism zone in the provincial capital of Shenyang, was extinguished as of 5:30 p.m.
Hundreds of firefighters and local residents were mobilized to fight the fire. The residents said they will remain on the mountain overnight to make sure the fire isn't rekindled.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way. |
