A major railway in southwest China was cut off on Sunday as days of heavy rain triggered a landslide at a key section of the railway.

No passengers were hurt, according to the Chengdu Railway Bureau.

However, 16 trains were suspended, 18 were forced to detour, and another 4 had to cut their routes short, the railway bureau said.

The section, linking the city of Neijiang in Sichuan Province and the city of Liupanshui in Guizhou Province, had been cut off by a landslide on Aug. 2. Trains between the two cities resumed operation on Aug. 19 before breaking down on Sunday.
