Advisory: NPC, CPPCC agenda for March 9

Following is the agenda for the fifth sessions of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) and the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on Friday.

NPC:

-- At 9 a.m., NPC deputies will hold panel discussions about the draft amendment to the Criminal Procedure Law, draft decision on deputy election for the 12th NPC, and draft methods for the election of deputies to the 12th NPC from the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions.

-- At 10 a.m., minister of agriculture Han Changbin will give a press conference on promoting agricultural technology advancement and increase of crop production and income of agriculture industry.

-- At 10:30 a.m., governor of Guangdong province will give a press conference in Capital Hotel on the economic and social development of Guangdong.

-- At 3 p.m., NPC deputies will hold a plenary meeting in the Great Hall of the People. Wu Bangguo, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, will deliver a report on the NPC Standing Committee's work.

-- At 7:30 p.m., three NPC deputies, who are migrant workers, will be available for interview via Internet by netizens on carrying out their duties. Netizens can raise questions through 11 websites, and interact with the deputies. Details of the deputies and the websites are available at www.npc.gov.cn/pc/11_5.

CPPCC:

-- At 9 a.m., members of the 11th CPPCC National Committee will hold a plenary meeting, at which members will speak.

-- At 3 p.m., members of the 11th CPPCC National Committee will hold panel discussions.

-- At 3 p.m., panel discussions will be open to journalists from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign countries in two locations. Details of the activities can be found at www.cppcc.people.com.cn.
