Li Daqiu, former vice chairman of the Guangxi Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and former chairman of the Guangxi Federation of Trade Unions, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and public office for discipline violations.

The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) made the announcement Wednesday.

In early July, the CCDI announced that Li was under investigation for suspected disciplinary violations. ( According to the CCDI statement, Li took advantage of his posts to seek benefits for others. He accepted a large sum of money and property by himself or through his family relatives.

Li's behaviors have violated the Party disciplines and are suspected of committing crimes.

According to the Party's disciplinary rules and the Civil Servant Law, the CCDI, after deliberation and getting approval from the CPC Central Committee, decided to expel Li from the CPC and the public office, confiscate his illegally-obtained money and property and transfer his case to the judicial organs.
