Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao on Thursday held talks with his Brazilian counterpart, Michel Temer, in Beijing, vowing to promote solidarity and cooperation among BRICS countries.

Li said China and Brazil are both at an important period of economic and social development, having broad potential in developing a bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.

He expressed hope that the two sides could strengthen political and strategic mutual trust, and push forward cooperation in the economy and trade, investment, energy, mining, infrastructure, finance and agriculture.

He also called on both sides to enhance coordination on major international and regional affairs, so as to jointly boost solidarity and cooperation among BRICS countries and push for an in-depth development of the China-Latin America comprehensive partnership of cooperation.
