Sudan's Khartoum State government on Wednesday received a grant from the Chinese government represented in 100 buses to be operated in the state's internal transportation.

The Khartoum State Governor Abdul-Rahman Al-Khadir and the Chinese Ambassador to Sudan Luo Xiaoguang signed at the ceremony held in Khartoum.

"I'm glad to attend this occasion to launch a project of assistance provided by the Chinese government to the friendly Sudan, represented in 100 buses for public transportation. We believe this is a new symbol for the Sino-Sudanese people's friendship," Luo told reporters after the ceremony.

"We will work with Khartoum State to boost our cooperation in all fields, beginning with this project, and we will enter into projects of infrastructure and others," he said, expressing hope that the project would be a beginning for further assistance.

Ahmed Qassim, Khartoum State's Minister of Infrastructures and Transportation, said that "we regard this grant as a natural extension for the Sino-Sudanese relations and it is a beginning. There are many cooperation projects in the field of transportation and infrastructures."

He reiterated that the relations between Sudan and China, which continued for over fifty years, has further strengthened and moved to fields of provision of services to the citizens in the two countries.

He expressed thanks of Khartoum State government and people to the Chinese government.
