Zhou Qiang is elected president of the Supreme People's Court of China at the fifth plenary meeting of the first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing, capital of China, March 15, 2013.(Xinhua)

Zhou Qiang was elected president of the Supreme People's Court at the annual session of the 12th National People's Congress Friday morning.

Zhou, born in April 1960, is currently a member of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee.
