Egyptian soccer violence kills dozens |

More than 50 were killed in a riot breaking out following a soccer match in northern Egypt Wednesday, according to local media reports.
53 had been killed in the turmiol after a match between Egypt's Al-Ahly and Al-Masry football teams in Port Said, a health ministry spokesman said in televised remarks.
"The deaths were caused by suffocation and serious fractures," Dr Hassan al-Isnawi, director of the central hospital in Port Said, was quoted as saying by Al Ahram Sports website.
Other reports indicated that the number of injured exceeded 300.
There were reports of rocks, bottles and fireworks and flares being thrown. |
