Egypt's lower house suspends sessions until May 6
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-04-29 22:55

Egypt's People's Assembly (Lower House) decided on Sunday to suspend its sessions until May 6, urging an immediate dismiss of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzouri, the state Nile TV reported.

"The parliament decided to suspend its sessions to May 6 until the problem of sacking the Cabinet be resolved", head of the Lower House Mohamed Saad al-Katatni said.

Katatni said the parliament's majority were neither satisfied with a recent Cabinet's statement about its management plan for the current period, nor the Cabinet's performance in general.

"This Cabinet which became a burden over the Egyptians should be sacked immediately by the ruling military council", he added.

Ganzouri's Cabinet was appointed on Nov. 25, 2011 by the ruling military council, which handed power after toppling former President Hosni Mubarak in February of 2011.
