Visiting Malian Foreign minister Sadio Lamine Sow said Sunday he will discuss the Malian crisis with Algerian top officials during his two-day visit.
"Algeria has always helped Mali to surmount its difficulties," the Malian foreign minister said upon his arrival at Algiers International Airport of Houari-Boumediene, adding that he is due to meet with Algerian top officials to discuss the crisis hitting his country since January.
For his part, Algeria Minister for Maghreb and African Affairs Abdelkader Messahel was quoted as saying that the bilateral cooperation is more necessary than ever amid current situation in Mali, noting that "The sovereignty and territorial integrity of Mali are not negotiable."
Algiers is seen as a key country in terms of its ability to resolve the crisis in the Sahel nation hit by violence in the north after that Tuareg separatists of the National Movement of the Liberation of Azawad (NMLA) proclaimed their independent state there. |
