Angolan airliner resumes flights to Beijing
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-09-19 07:23

Angola's national airliner TAAG has resumed its weekly flights to Beijing, the capital of China, after a five-month stoppage due to operational reasons, Angola's official news agency reported on Tuesday.

The flights depart on Monday from the Angolan capital Luanda to Beijing and back from Beijing on Tuesday with a Boeing 777-220er, and the company planned to add one more weekly flight between the two capitals by October to meet the rising demand.

Currently there are at least 50,000 Chinese expatriates working in Angola, mostly involved in the post-war reconstruction process, which began when the civil war ended in the southern African country in 2002.

TAAG has operations in Portugal, Brazil, Dubai, Havana, South Africa, Sao Tome and Principe, Cape Verde, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
