Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-10-01 14:39

Egypt's ex-prime minister Ahmed Shafiq together with ten aviation top officials were referred to criminal court over charges of financial corruption, official news agency MENA reported on Sunday.

Former aviation minister Ibrahim Manna along with other nine officials were charged in four cases related to harming the public funds, the report added. Shafiq who was the last prime minister in former President Mubarak's regime, has signed a cooperation protocol to establish New Egypt Services Association on the land of Mubarak's wife park. Based on this protocol, other defendants were granted the authority to exploit the Egypt Air Holding Co. funds as value for recreational games in the park.

Shafiq who is staying in United Arab Emirates as well as Mubarak's two sons were also referred on Sept.11 to criminal court over charges of committing administrative and financial violations for purchase of pilots' association land.

In another report, the Court of Cassation has decided to consider appeals filed by former interior minister Habib el-Adli against sentence rulings over complicity in killing peaceful protesters during the uprising.
