An international fair is now under way in Tripoli with the aim of facilitating the development of war-torn Libya.

The event has attracted more than 1,100 domestic and foreign companies and institutions, Salahuddin Hamza, a senior government official in charge of exhibitions, told Xinhua.

Sponsored by the Libyan Economic Ministry, the fair begun on Tuesday and will last till April 12.

Among the participants are 26 Chinese exhibitors, with some representatives saying that they seek to boost economic cooperation with Libya.
