Libya's warring factions will resume the UN-sponsored talks on March 11 in Morocco after a three-day peace dialogue was paused on Saturday, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) said in a statement on Sunday.

A three-day UN-sponsored dialogue between Libya's warring factions held here was paused on Saturday, allowing time for representatives from rival parties to consult on plans to solve the ongoing crisis in Libya.

The UN special envoy to Libya, Bernardino Leon, concluded Saturday the dialogue as "constructive and positive," stressing that the talks will proceed to end the political crisis in Libya.

"Important progress has been made so far in the talks aiming to find a peaceful resolution to end the conflict in Libya," the statement said, adding that the talks focused on the security arrangements to end the conflict and the formation of a national unity government to end the institutional divisions in Libya.

"UNSMIL looks forward to the talks continuing in the same spirit of full engagement and determination by the parties to reach a political agreement to bring stability to Libya," the statement added.
