Two American tourists and their Egyptian guide were kidnapped Friday by a Bedouin in Egypt's Sinai, security source told Xinhua.
"The group has been kidnapped 5 km away from Sadr al-Hitan district in central Sinai by a Bedouin people related to a tribe called Turabeen," the security source said.
The kidnapper took the three to an unknown desert place, pressing the Egyptian authorities to release one of the detained Bedouin who was jailed in a prison in Alexandria.
The security authorities are mediating with the tribe's leaders to release the kidnapped.
This is the sixth kidnapping case in the area since February. A Singapore tourist was kidnapped by a group of masked gunmen in Middle Sinai on June 15. |
