Two people were shot inside a supermarket in the Atlanta metropolitan area on Monday afternoon, local media reported.

The shooting took place in a Kroger store in Gwinnett Country, the U.S. state of Georgia. Local police said two people were shot and have been transported to hospital and two people have been taken into custody, WSB-TV based in Atlanta reported.

A police spokesman said there may have been an altercation before the shooting, WSB-TV reported.
