Thai PM encourages more investment from S. Korea |

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Monday invited South Korean investors to make more investments in Thailand's value-added industries and services during her visit in the country, state-run media MCOT reported.
Leading companies from varied fields participating in the luncheon speech included LG Electronics, Samsung Group, Hyundai Motor, K-Water, SM Entertainment, and Korail Korea Railroad.
The premier also affirmed the investors about the government's water management and flood prevention plans in the country.
For the past decade, over 500 South Korean companies have invested in Thailand. During the past year alone, trade between the two nations increased 12 percent year-on-year while investment volume also increased 51 percent.
Thailand's first female prime minister arrived in Seoul on Saturday and was scheduled to attend the two-day 2012 Nuclear Security Summit which started on Monday. Her official visit to South Korea is aimed at building trust and boosting cooperation after the flood crisis last year. |
