The body of an airlines pilot was recovered from the reservoir in southern Thailand after the tourist boat he was in capsized, while four other passengers had been rescued earlier, the Thai News Agency reported on Friday.
The body of the 47-year-old pilot was found after a six-hour search. The boat hit a submerged log and capsized Thursday afternoon in Ratchaprapa Reservoir in the southern province of Surat Thani.
According to the Thai News Agency, the pilot from Taiwan island was traveling with three friends on a sight-seeing boat trip at the reservoir when the accident took place.
Eyewitnesses said the group hired a long-tailed boat operated by Adipong Wichienkaew, a Thai national, to take them out onto the lake for fishing and sightseeing. The boat capsized after hitting a floating tree trunk. Adipong was rescued on Thursday and sent to hospital. |
