South Korea and Australia agreed Monday to regularly hold joint naval drills as part of efforts to expand bilateral defense cooperation, the South Korean Navy said.
At their meeting in the southern port city of Jinhae, South Korean Navy chief Admiral Choi Yun-hee and his Australian counterpart Vice Admiral Ray Griggs also agreed to boost personnel exchanges and hold high-level meetings.
Griggs is on a four-day trip involving visits to a local naval unit and the Navy Operational Command in Busan.
Both countries have held seven rounds of bilateral naval meetings since 2000. |
