Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-05-14 17:06
India's left-wing Naxal rebels killed Sunday night six personnel of the paramilitary Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and a civilian driver in Dantewada district of the central state of Chhattisgarh, police said on Monday.

The rebels ambushed a vehicle carrying a patrol team of the CISF soldiers, spraying bullets on all the people in it at 21:30 p. m. local time near the iron ore town of Kirandul, 420 km from state capital Raipur, according to police.

The rebels also took away the six CISF troopers' assault rifles.

Kirandul is situated in Bailadila hills where public sector National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (NMDC) mines two- third of its roughly 25 million tons annual iron ore output, said Indo-Asian News Service.
