A gas explosion at an adhesive manufacturing plant in the city of Hwaseong, south of Seoul, has left four people missing and eight others injured, Yonhap news agency reported Monday.
The explosion, which occurred at around 11:35 a.m. (local time), crushed a factory building and partially destroyed three other buildings, it said. The blast also damaged nearby cars and buildings.
Police and fire authorities are looking into the exact cause of the explosion, while they believe highly inflammable gas exploded during the process of producing adhesives and resins for paints.
They have also launched a search operation for the missing. |
