South Korea's top nuclear envoy Lim Sung-nam said Friday South Korea and the United States are in close consultations with each other over policy towards the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

"I'm sure we will have another useful round of discussions between Seoul and Washington, regarding the future course of actions and regarding what we will face together in the months to come," Lim, who represents South Korea in six-party talks aimed at dismantling Pyongyang's nuclear program, was quoted as saying by Yonhap News Agency.

The remark came at a meeting with U.S. special envoy on DPRK policy Glynn Davies, who is on a three-day Seoul visit following their talks in Japan that also involved Japan's chief nuclear negotiator Shinsuke Sugiyama.

Six-party negotiations, which also involve China and Russia, have been stalled since the last round of talks in December 2008.

Pyongyang quit the talks in April 2009 in protest against United Nations sanctions, but has since expressed wish to return to the negotiating table.
