13 killed in building collapse in western India
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-12-19 16:44

At least 13 people were killed in a building collapse in the western Indian state of Maharashtra Tuesday, a senior police official said Wednesday.

"The incident happened when an under-construction building collapsed in the Wagholi area in the state's second largest city of Pune. All the victims were laborers who were working at the construction site," he said, on condition of anonymity.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official added.

The incident happened barely four months after a building collapsed in Pune, killing six people.

Poor building material are often responsible for these kind of mishaps in India.
